Closing out my 2025 season highlights with Almost There ✨ This junior musical theatre group was such a joy—full of mixed personalities and abilities, but overflowing with energy and potential. I loved taking my own spin on this Disney classic, turning it into a full story with the girls as the cutest waitresses ever, and watching them bring it to life.
What made this piece so special was seeing how much they grew from the start of the season. They came in shy and unsure, but through teamwork, building a strong work ethic, and embracing the value of hard work, they transformed into a confident, supportive group who lit up the stage together. In the classroom, we often talked about “adding all of the seasoning” into our movement quality—like we were creating the most delicious recipe in a cookbook—and they poured all of that flavor right into their performance. 💫

It was a fresh style of jazz for these three juniors who continue to hone their fundamentals each week with dedication. Along the way, I found myself not only choreographing but also stepping into seamstress mode—up-styling their fierce costumes to match the energy of the piece.
What I loved most was watching each dancer discover her own voice of confidence and spunk. really proud of this one, and the beautiful girls who brought it each and every run. As a mentor to all 8 of you, I try my best to give you the tools you need to be challenged in your storytelling and movement quality, but also supported and age appropriate where you can soar and have confidence through every little step. But I also selfishly took this piece as a way to heal from a lot of grieving myself, Miss Julia, and Miss Jen have had this year over the loss of my beautiful & loving Mémère Diane.

Paris, France was her place that connected her to her family, her mother who passed early on, and her culture that encompassed art,beauty, and love. Anything and everything surrounded her with berets, the Eiffel Tower, and music that she would melodically hum around the home while making my siblings and I dinner every single night. Loads and loads of albums by the side of her Tv stand with photos from her visit to France along a museum full of our family history, where she would endlessly remember her family tree and share with me each and every individual and how we’re all connected.

Even though my Mémère went to heaven, she has been with all of you through each and every performance telling how “bee-you-tif-fall” you all are up on that stage. I can hear her voice and see her big warm smile every time that music turns on. What a perfect and happy, heavenly Mother’s Day performance. Thank you ladies for giving me an artistic outlet to celebrate her life!

Things have been a little different now that we both have found some love in our lives, but in such a fantastic way! I’m so happy for you and Andy, and finally seeing you receive the love that you DESERVE. As stressful as the dance life is, you take it with so much pride, control, and confidence, but also humbleness, grace, and fun!
